Blogging vs Websites

I was under the impression that a blog was a webpage, although more like a news site. It is kind of like an ongoing conversation one has with the followers. A website is your portfolio, more static and usually better designed. It costs more, not only in purchasing the domain, but in terms of time and labor involved in its development. A website is a place where people come for specific information, not neccessarily new. I agree with Katy Macdonald who said that blogs are much more opinion-based than web sites, although some businesses seem to use blogs as their only web page. I think the main difference between the two is that blogs are not static. Ideally, it seems to me that blogs must be updated regularly. Who wants to read old news. You have to be fresh!

  1. We're on the same page Steven. Facebook is also getting popular with businesses. Trying to appeal to the digital natives?

  2. What I like about Blogs is that you get anecdotal information on technology. It may or may not be accurate as it is someone's opinion. They can be quite interesting to read. When I was worried about an illness I had I looked it up. That was not a smart thing to do. Everyone had a different opinion for the treatment!-Melissa
